Lukaku Betrayed Me- Antonio Conte Claims

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte has accused Romelu Lukaku of betrayal following the latter’s move to Manchester United from Everton for a fee of around  75 million pounds.

Lukaku had been earlier rumoured to be close to a deal that would have taken him back to Stamford Bridge where he formerly played after insisting on leaving his former club, Everton.

According to reports, Conte had severally contacted the player since the season finished and was confident of a deal for the 24-year old.

However, the Italian manager who feels betrayed accused Lukaku and his agent, Mino Raiola, of demanding a high fee which the Premier League champions.

Meanwhile, Conte has reportedly settled his differences with the Chelsea board over their transfer policy which would have ensured the switch of the Belgium star to the Blues.

Conte is expected to return to Chelsea’s training ground at Cobham on Sunday to begin his side’s pre-season preparations.

The Premier League champions, who will resume training on Monday, will fly out to China for their pre-season tour where they meet Arsenal on July 22.

Meanwhile Diego Costa is set to have a sit-down with Coach Conte as he is still keen of playing for the Blues in the coming season.
