Letter To Oma: From The Cup Of Your Strength–Henry Dennis

Do you know that happiness is occasioned by companionship? It is a fact that almost everybody knows about, but have refused to share. I am not talking about companionship in the way that somebody just stays with you–the way that irascible child Emmy Oruh stays with me, sometimes.I am talking about companionship that builds, not the one that detracts.
Oma, what you have offered me in life is the companionship that edifies, which is why your absence makes me have this emptiness that has grown to the extent that it seeks to force itself through my throat, and pour out for the world to see.
I think though that it is fate at work, possibly, re-enforcing an already charted path to your greatness, which at this moment meant you should be away from me.
But that is the thing about fate. How many times has it made mistakes? How many times has it placed all of us on paths we know we could have doctored?Personally I have given up on fate, but not on you. I think that you and I will create our own destiny and enforce it.
You are an amazing person, and in your own special way, you have defied fate and recreated the world to suit your desires.Your strength, against all odds, is what I marvel at,yet draw enormous strength from.
You are the strongest of humans, and a testimony to man’s immeasurable ability to triumph, against all odds.
I struggle daily to derive strength from you, and hope that today, strength like no other will envelope me and take me to your level.
I’ll love you forever!
Henry
