Davido Reacts To Libyan Slavery

Davido, winner of the 2017 MOBO’s ‘Best African Act’, has reacted to the ongoing enslavement of black Africans in Libya.

Davido who gave his reaction while giving his speech after receiving the award at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, United Kingdom urged the continent’s leaders to address the plight of Africans being enslaved in Libya.

Ikenga Chronicles can report that pictures of the trading of human beings in Libya has gone viral on social media and has become the talk of the day.

In his reaction, Davido said “Before I congratulate myself, I want to talk about what is going in Africa. I know you guys have been hearing what’s going on in Libya.”

“But it’s not only going on in Libya. It’s going on in the whole world. So, I feel like we all need to come together and find a way to fix this problem.”

Davido beat other African greats like Wizkid, Mr Eazi, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Maleek Berry and others to the award.

In his acceptance speech, he thanked God, his family and dedicated the award to his team and to his two daughters.

His words “First of all, I want to thank God, my family and everyone that supported me,” stated Davido, as he stepped up to, received his award.

“Another person I want to thank is my publicist, Vanessa. She’s been so so good to me. My manager, Ese Asika. I also want to thank my mentor, Efe Ogbeide, for all the support. And this (raising the award plaque) for my two baby girls staying at home watching their daddy.”
